You might not think that hiking through someone's back yard is a big deal until you hike through mine. I only own 3.5 Acers and most of that is on a steep incline surrounded by town and state owned forest, but Pine Hill can be a chalange.
The forest is always mysterious. Every tree is special.
About halfway up Pine Hill the trail gets a bit rugged
There are many interesting slate formations.
And there will be plenty of photo opportunities, but keep moving.
If you make it to White Rock you'll have a great view of the town.
Actually I had to go a little beyond White Rock to get this picture.
Anyhow keep on trucking.
Go to the very top of Pine hill.
Here you'll find a slate mine.
Nice pile of rocks?
Lots of exercise.
And a reward...
Hey what can I say.
A little hiking through some rugged terrain.
A great view. What more is there?
